Global Gaming Group agrees new collaboration with Finnplay
Swedish gaming company, Global Gaming (GLOBAL:FN Stockholm), recently announced that it has entered into a new partnership agreement with real money gaming platform and solutions specialist, Finnplay Group.
Brokered via the Finnish company’s Malta-based subsidiary, the newly-inked deal will see the Ninja Casino operator gain access to the entire range of Finnplay’s high-end technology solutions and complete platforms for online gaming.
According to the official press release, Chief Executive Officer and President for Global Gaming, Tobias Fagerlund, said…
“Finnplay’s experience in providing online casino games and their expertise and deep understanding of the Nordic gaming markets sets them apart as an ideal business partner for us.
“The cooperation creates long-term opportunities for us to continue to deliver the best gaming experience to our customers in all markets we want to operate in.”
Global appoints new CEO:
Fagerlund, formerly the firm’s director, was named acting CEO after Joacim Möller stepped down from his role as Chief Executive of the Malmö-headquartered company. He served as acting CEO from April 29, until Global Gaming’s Board of Directors appointed him the company’s new President and CEO on July 2nd, 2019.
Martin Prantner, Chief Executive Officer for Finnplay, added…
“We’re delighted to work with the Global Gaming team, with their excellent track record of having built one of the most successful online gaming brands in the industry and their in-depth knowledge of player requirements.
“The cooperation will enable Finnplay to improve on the platform, its features and functionalities in order to create an even better and safer player experience.”
Multi-jurisdiction licensed:
The privately-owned Nordic-based gaming platform provider’s (Finnplay) products are licensed in the regulated gaming jurisdictions of Mexico, Estonia, Denmark, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Malta, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
Regulatory sanctions:
The new partnership providing some relief to Global, which has during recent weeks been slammed by regulatory sanctions in Sweden, where Spelinspektionen stripped its [Global Gaming] SafeEnt subsidiary of its license in June. The Scandinavian nation’s gambling regulator citing serious breaches of the country’s anti-money laundering and player protection processes.
Global, however, claims that the penalty is disproportionate and is confident that it will be successful in an appeal.
Bid to resume ops rejected:
In June, the subsidiary’s bid to resume activities in the Swedish market while awaiting the outcome of its appeal against the revocation of its operating license was rejected by the Administrative Court of Linköping.
Last week, Global failed to have the ruling overturned after the Administrative Court of Appeal confirmed the first court’s decision. As a last-ditch effort, the company can take its appeal to Sweden’s Supreme Administrative Court, or hope to prevail in its challenge against the decision by Spelinspektionen to strip it of its operating license.
On January 1, 2019, new laws came into effect to legalize and regulate iGaming in Sweden. Since then, it has been suggested by many operators that the new tax rate, high competition and operating restrictions have adversely impacted revenue.
Finnplay launches in Romania:
Meanwhile, the Helsinki-headquartered open iGaming platform provider, Finnplay, announced in late May that it had successfully launched licensed class 1 operator, Platinum Casino, online in the regulated Romanian market, using its class 2 licensed iGaming platform.
