Yggdrasil inks new iGaming content deal with Irish online slots operator Slotbox
Following news of the company’s CEO transition, Yggdrasil has grown its global presence having formed an alliance with Irish online casino operator, Slotbox.
Under the agreement that sees the online brand go from “strength to strength,” Yggdrasil will make the entire library of its own games, as well as those created through its YG Masters collaborative content partnership program, available to the operator‘s customers in Ireland.
In addition, Slotbox will also have at its disposal player-favorite titles that utilize the provider’s trademarked Gigablox, GigaRise, DoubleMax, MultiMAX, and Splitz game engagement mechanics (GEM).
Enhanced experiences & reach:
Commenting on the new tie-up, a spokesperson for Slotbox reportedly said…
“Our online brand is going from strength-to-strength and we are thrilled to further bolster our offering with Yggdrasil’s premium slots.
“We aim to offer our customers engaging and entertaining experiences and Yggdrasil’s slots have proven longevity and a big fan-following.”
The mutually beneficial agreement will see Yggdrasil further expand its global footprint, adding untapped audiences, while the deal will give a considerable boost to the online slots operator’s reach.
Land-based strength:
“This alliance with Slotbox will see us enhance our presence globally and it’s fantastic to work with such a renowned and established operator with a strong land-based history,” read a statement from Andrew Pegler, Director of Commercial Operations for Yggdrasil.
Pegler added that they “continue to strike important strategic partnerships” and increase their global presence, taking their “fantastic slot collection” to an even greater number of players.
Coastline Gaming:
Powered by Gaming Innovation Group’s (GiG) platform, Slotbox was launched in 2020 and is the iGaming arm of Irish tech-focused gaming company Coastline Gaming.
The Dublin-headquartered casino group is responsible for multiple retail brands, including Caesars Palace Casino in Salthill, Galway; Sands Amusements casino in Bundoran, Donegal; Empire Casino in Dublin; Silver Strand in Bray, Co. Wicklow; The Blackhorn Amusements in Bridge End, Co. Donegal; Atlantic Arcade & Casino in Tramore, Co. Waterford; Victoria Casino in Victorian Quarter, Cork and Star Bingo Buncrana in Buncrana, Co. Donegal.
Changing of the guard:
As mentioned, the latest deal follows the Swedish iGaming publisher’s leadership transition, with former Chief of Global Market Operations, Björn Krantz, assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer from the company’s founder, Fredrik Elmqvist.
The new CEO, who will join Yggdrasil’s senior management team in leading the business into its next “growth and globalisation phase,” has more than 12 years of C-level industry experience having spent a decade with NetEnt, before signing with Yggdrasil as Head of Publishing Division in January 2020.
In a statement in the press release, Krantz said…
“It’s with great humbleness I am taking over as CEO after Fredrik. I have enormous respect for the history, company legacy and its awesome culture. It’s all about the people and building strong and winning teams, and it’s a great pleasure for me to have such talented and motivated people around me every single day.”
“We have a clear strategy, and together with the rest of the management team I look forward to delivering on our global growth ambitions, and to further strengthen our position as the leading igaming publisher and premium global igaming solutions provider. It will be a pleasure for me to continue working with Fredrik as a close ally and use him as strategic soundboard as we enter the next phase of the company strategy implementation.”
